Information
We will cross the Gulf of Poets to discover the village of Porto Venere and the Palmaria Island archipelago (Palmaria, Tino, and Tinetto). They are recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, three beautiful islands of different sizes, untouched by development. In front of Palmaria Island lies the village of Porto Venere, your first stop on the tour, recognizable by its colorful row houses and the famous Church of San Pietro perched on the sea. Here you can disembark and visit the village, the narrow streets, the waterfront, the Churches of San Pietro and San Lorenzo, the ancient walls, and the Doria Castle to enjoy the view of Porto Venere from another perspective. The captain will be waiting for you on board. The second stop of your tour will be Palmaria Island, a true naturalistic and hiking paradise. On the island, you can find some natural caves and a series of military fortifications, now converted into tourist facilities. Here, you will have the opportunity to stop for lunch at a typical island restaurant. After lunch, we will sail towards the other two small islands: Tino Island, formerly the site of a monastery and now a military area, and Tinetto, little more than a rock on which monks had built small religious structures, now completely abandoned. Finally, you can admire the wonderful Grotto, dedicated to the English poet Lord Byron. On the return to La Spezia, we will pass on our left some seaside villages, Le Grazie, Fezzano, and Cadimare. During the tour, there will be stops to swim in some of the most beautiful caves that these islands have to offer. What is included: private boat with skipper, fuel, insurance, beach towel, snorkeling equipment, soft drinks, beverages and snacks, aperitif with local products
